More Than a Bakery, It’s a Movement.
At Butter Road, we believe good food shouldn’t come at the planet’s expense.
Founded by chef and zero-waste advocate Christine Tizzard, Butter Road Bakery is rooted in a simple idea: that indulgence and sustainability can—and should—coexist. Every pastry we bake is made from scratch using grass-fed butter and locally sourced ingredients from Ontario farms (including our own Lost Mile Barn).
Christine’s journey back to the kitchen began after surviving brain cancer. Baking became a space for healing, creativity, and purpose—and Butter Road is the result. We’re here to bring you flakier croissants, richer cakes, and food that respects farmers, ingredients, and the environment.
This isn’t just about what we serve. It’s about how we serve it. That’s why we:
-
Use whole ingredients (and their scraps!)
-
Transform leftovers into new creations
-
Ditch plastic for compostable & recyclable packaging
-
Teach the community how to bake waste-free
Butter Road isn’t just a bakery—it’s a better way forward.
